Accessed through the Rainforest Discovery Centre, this elevated boardwalk takes you high into the treetops for a unique view of the forest. Come early in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds. Possibly the most popular walk on the Sunshine Coast, and rightly so, it is a beautiful part of the coast. This initiative is a great opportunity for busy new mums and dads to socialise with other like-minded parents, while getting outdoors and enjoying some exercise. The suburbs around Mooloolaba and all the way to Caloundra are fairly built up. This is a beautiful and very busy coastal pathway which is popular with locals and visitors. Location: 2149 Mount Samson Road, Samford Valley. This 58.8km long-distance walk is typically broken up into four days with three overnight stays in remote walkers camps. Mount Ngungun is the sixth tallest of the Glass House Mountains, at 253m. Or start from the Boardwalk at Mt Coolum. It really is a beautiful example of what healthy rainforest looks like on the coast. Currimundi Lake has a playground, barbecue and picnic tables, natural shade, beach showers as well as public amenities. From the second lookout, you can see Baroon Pocket Dam in the distance and also get some views into Obi Obi Gorge. The walks in this area are relatively short and lead you through wallum heathland where you may spot coastal birds and wildflowers (peak flowering time is late winter to spring).
